AMHRÁIN NA SAOIRSE: TIONSCADAL BOB MARLEY

Mair ní ar do shon féin ach ar son daoine eile an soiscéal a bhí ag an bhfáidh reggae Bob Marley, duine de mhóroirfidigh an 20ú haois. Athruithe sóisialta agus réabhlóid spioradálta a d'éiligh sé ina chuid amhrán agus san am  céanna lig sé dá chuid éisteoirí a mbuairt a dhearmad agus damhsa leis an gceol.

Cuirfidh Amhráin na Saoirse: Tionscadal Bob Marley an chuid is fearr dá shaothar i láthair. Gaeilge ghleoite curtha ag Gabriel Rosenstock ar na liricí, Liam Ó Maonlaí agus an banna reggae Béal Feirsteach Bréag a chanfaidh. Íomhánna breátha ar scáileán le Margaret Lonergan.

REDEMPTION SONGS: THE BOB MARLEY PROJECT

‘Live for yourself and you will live in vain. Live for others and you will live again’.
So declared reggae prophet Bob Marley, one of the 20th century’s most charismatic performers. His songs advocated social change and spiritual revolution, whilst allowing his listeners to forget their troubles and dance.

Redemption Songs: The Bob Marley Project features the very best of Marley’s music, from the cutting edge politics of ‘So Much Trouble in the World’ to the hymnal ‘No Woman, No Cry’ and the sweet pop of ‘Is this love?’ and ‘Three little birds’. Transcreated into exquisite Irish by Gabriel Rosenstock, they will be performed by Liam Ó Maonlaí and acclaimed Belfast reggae band Bréag. Margaret Lonergan has created stunning screen projections of the lyrics..
