International Award winning theatre-company Mouth on Fire presents two of William Butler Yeats’s greatest plays for Seachtain na Gaeilge 2017 - together with a selection of Yeats’s poems sung and spoken in an afternoon of great entertainment, starring some of Ireland’s best known actors.

Donncha Crowley (best known for King Arthur, Father Ted, Angela’s Ashes and Kings) pairs with veteran actor Micheál Ó Gruagáin (Grabbers, Killinascully, Corp agus Anam) in An Cat agus an Ghealach (The Cat and the Moon), while Macdara Ó Fátharta, Ros na Rún’s most famous bar man, features as the Voice.

This is followed by the World Premiere of Purgadóir - of what many consider Yeats’s best play, Purgatory - starring Donncha Crowley and Eddie Mullarkey.  Wonderfully translated by the internationally renowned poet Gabriel Rosenstock.

The plays will be interspersed with some of Yeats’s greatest poetry - Easter 1916, The Song of Wandering Aengus, The Lake Isle of Innisfree – performed by Cathal Quinn and sung by musician Enda Reilly.
