100 sensuous and humourous haiku (inspired by a photo of the Very Venerable Chögyam Trungpa in Highland Regalia) by Irish poet and master haikuist Gabriel Rosenstock. Oscillating between Scottish moors and Tibetan mountaintops, Rosenstock guides us through landcape and history, introducing heroes, villains, and Irish monks; pointing out the beasts and birds and insects in the hedgerows in a tour de force of modern haiku writing. This edition includes translations into Japanese by Mariko Sumikura and into Scots by John McDonald, as well as ‘proverbial pauses’ in Scottish Gaelic illustrated with linotypes by Mathew Staunton.
