A TRIBUTE TO THE POET LOLA RIDGE

You are invited to a wine reception marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of internationally acclaimed poet, Dublin-born LOLA RIDGE (1873-1941).
The evening will include the launch of a chapbook Honey Served on Thorns produced by Gabriel Rosenstock in association with POP (Poets of the Planet, Paris) in memory of Lola Ridge; as well as the unveiling of a haunting portrait of this fascinating Anarcho-Communist poet.
Honey Served on Thorns is a succinct taster, containing a number of Lola Ridge’s key poems translated – or transcreated – into Irish by Gabriel and into Scots by John McDonald.
The painting of Lola Ridge is by Masood Hussain of Kashmir, who has collaborated with Gabriel on many projects including the 2019 book Walk with Gandhi which was produced to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Gandhi’s birth.
The book will be launched by leading poet and author Amanda Bell.
Amanda will also unveil the portrait of Lola Ridge, which will then be sold to the highest bidder.
