An duine le Dia é an file haiku? An haiku seo a leanas, cuir i gcás, an duine normálta a scríobhfadh a leithéid?
seangán sa gheimhreadh
siúlann sé leis
gan áit aige chun bás a fháil
Kijo Murakami (1865 - 1938)
Caithfidh an file haiku a bheith ina ghealt, dar le Hiroaki Sato sa leabhar On Haiku (New Directions Books 2018):
"The original word for what's given as 'a poetic turn of mind' is furyu, literally 'wind flow' - an expression that can't be translated to anyone's satisfaction. It refers to a liking for things somewhat unwordly or transcendental or the object of that inclination, such as poetry. Among its synonyms is fuga, which carries a greater dose of 'elegance' or 'refinement' Another synonym, fukyo, suggests 'poetic dementia'."
Aithníonn an file haiku gur gealt nó leathghealt is ea e mar go gcuireann an domhan mór in iúl do nach bhfuil a iompar nó a chaint, abraimis, ag teacht le rialacha na sibhialtachta, mar dhea:
ardaím bona mo chóta/ níl glactha ag an saol mór/ liom
Shuson Kato (1905 - 1993)
